Trial Attorneys
A Different Breed
Trial attorneys are a different breed.
Trial lawyers think differently, prepare differently and are able to obtain results that other attorneys may not achieve. They are proactive as opposed to reactive. Trial attorneys are those lawyers that evaluate, accept, prepare and present cases with the one question in mind: What will a jury do with this case? These attorneys are quick studies and quick thinkers who enjoy and thrive in a courtroom environment; they understand and appreciate the fundamental role that trial by jury plays in our civil and criminal justice system; they anticipate and relish seeking justice from a jury of their client’s peers; and they do not let insurance companies or other powerful corporations dictate what justice demands and what the true value of a case may be. This different breed of an attorney is constantly analyzing information and evidence in an effort to determine how that information will impact their case and what additional information should be sought and gathered to strengthen the case further. A trial attorney’s mind does not rest. Everything revolves around the case and the expected outcome. This obsession with a case leads to one thing; success. Success in the courtroom; success in negotiations; and success in settlements.
Insurance companies create the largest databases in the world about all different types of information. One primary consideration for any insurance company and adjuster is the attorney on the other side. How many cases has this attorney taken to a jury? What results have they obtained both in court and out of court? What type of abilities and resources does the attorney and his/her staff possess? Will the attorney miss critical pieces of evidence or legal issues that may make or break the case, or is this attorney meticulous with careful attention to each and every important detail of a case? Insurance companies know which attorneys are trial attorneys and which attorneys are simply there to “churn and burn” a case.
At GRL Law each and every one of our attorneys is a trial attorney obsessed with obtaining the best possible outcome for each client while minimizing the negative collateral consequences of suffering from a severe injury. We have made a concerted effort not to monopolize all of our time and efforts into accepting only personal injury cases and have done so with a specific purpose in mind. Personal injury cases do not get into court as often as criminal, family law or other trial focused cases. If we focuses exclusively on personal injury types of cases, we would be in court less often, and like others who do not often try cases our skills would not be as honed and sharp.
By maintaining case loads in other areas of law, our attorneys remain sharp and comfortable in their trial skills and willing to take a case to trial if necessary. We do not have to wipe the dust off of our trial cases and brief cases when an insurance company does not want to provide a fair and just resolution to a case. Our wheels are greased and ready to role.
Additionally, by maintaining a steady case load in trial focused areas of the law, our firm is able to maintain the necessary cash flow to fund the more expensive and time consuming serious injury cases without requiring clients to advance litigation expenses. Lastly, the term trial lawyers is synonymous with the term trial attorneys.
